Cameron was born in Wellington, New Zealand and spent his early childhood years surrounded by Maori art. This inspired him to create representations of these beautiful symbols to convey the importance of cultural meaning.

The Hei Matau (fish hook) symbol is said to represent prosperity and safe travel over water. Traditionally Maori were very reliant on the bounty they caught from the sea to survive, hence the modern day meaning of the symbol being prosperity. It also holds significance for the traditional Maori beliefs of respect for the sea.

This pendant also comes with a corded necklace that was hand braided by Cameron.
