Cameron was born in Wellington, New Zealand and spent his early childhood years surrounded by Maori art. This inspired him to create representations of these beautiful symbols to convey the importance of cultural meaning.
Roimata, the teardrop, is important in Maori design. The first designs are said to come from the tears shed during the separation of Ranginui (Sky father) and Papatuanuku (Earthmother). The modern day meaning for the wearer has transformed to mean healing and growth after difficult challenges.
The stunning lightning pattern naturally running through the stone has been exposed throughout the carving process to make for a truly unique pendant.
This pendant also comes with a corded necklace that was hand braided by Cameron.
