Cameron was born in Wellington, New Zealand and spent his early childhood years surrounded by Maori art. This inspired him to create representations of these beautiful symbols to convey the importance of cultural meaning.
The Hei Tiki represents the human form and one's ancestors. Traditionally, the Hei Tiki pendant would be passed on from generation to generation and so the mana (one’s presence) would increase with each wearer. In more recent times, this isn’t the case and the pendants are worn as symbols of cultural identity, or used as symbols for protection.
This pendant also comes with a corded necklace that was hand braided by Cameron.
